In the healthcare industry, biocides are used in low-level disinfection of stethoscopes, bedpans, blood-pressure cuffs as well as surfaces that are near patients such as floors, walls, tables, bed rails, and screens. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HAIs account for 1.7 million infections and 99,000 associated deaths every year.
